It’s not impossible to dress a printed dress and continue with tzniut! You know that colored dress that’s in your closet? Take it off and give some taste to life!

Why it works?

  • The dress is divided with a belt, that breaks and gives a restart to the printing.
  • The coat over neutralizes the colors of the dress. It could enhance if the coat would be beige, but the gray enhance the darker colors. In both cases it would be beautiful.
  • The shoes are different, but the colors don’t conflict with the dress. Soft colors. ;)

People don’t have to loose their style to dress with tzniut.

Understand why we choose our clothes

Any transformation that people do in their body, like for instance, the clothes, surgical procedures or just use make up, are complements that act on the gesture (body language), we try to communicate ourselves though clothing and to that some elements are necessary in order to complete our body. In this way we complete the inner-self communication we have.
I.e: You’re in a black-basic-dress and to give tone to your personality you’ll put a handsome necklace and use make up as well.
We’ve commented on our previous posts that we invest in our style to express something to the public, and this is the body language and image - but now something important to be notice is that the same clothes mean something to us as well, this is our perception.
When the reaction about the black-dress is positive, supposing that people had a formal impression, this impression not only remains to  others but specially for us.
Because of that its a re-affirmation process, we get dressed to create a formal identity, it would be like that will all the clothes and also with all the expressions we know.

With who do we look like?
The moment of picking a clothe, it’s more important to think in how we are going to see ourselves instead of thinking how we wish that other people got to see us. Think on who you are!
Choosing a more subtle and discreet way of dressing it’s to look inside ourselves and to be ready to just not be another object. It’s to pick a clothe that won’t point any false impression from our personality and it will, after all, point who we really are, because the point in which the attention will be turned are our virtues and attitudes.
It’s not the image that must endure our typical traits, only through self-knowledge we will know who we are.

The secret of aesthetic

Why do we get dressed? Because we have aesthetic necessities.

When a work must be done, the motivation not only happens from the trivial necessities of an action, it means, all work present us the feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment, that comes from the connection of our work with our ideas.
I.e: We have a shirt to iron, the motivation that we have is to have a smooth shirt but actually, what we want is to look pretty. The action to iron the shirt, it’s connected with our idea of good looking.
I.e.2: A mother cooks to her sons, her first motivation is feed her children, but actually she wants them to like her food. The action of cooking is connected to the idea of the kids enjoying the meals she’s doing it for them.
Aesthetic is a psychological necessity, in the way that when we get dressed, the details have an “intention” that runs way beyond decorating ourselves and that’s one of the ideas of communication through clothing. The fact of being dressed and communicating, allows a playful way of living, where is possible to perform according to the place in which we are. Like an actor with his scenes.
The whole point is, what’s our intention when get dressed? Do you know yours?
Once we dress in a less attractive way we show that we are not in a movie scene, or even that we are in our own movie. To show off less the body it’s to communicate the exterior part that is inside us. In other words, when there’s too much light on something, its color gets deformed instead of appearing the right way.

Communicating ourselves without a word

If communication has no words, wich tools are used to make a speech?

We saw that through the body we can express our thoughts, receive and create new sensations. In fact the body becomes a support for our gestures and clearly, for our clothes. When we join both, gestures+clothes, we gain a style, that is expressed through colors, textures, forms, etc.

Independently if the reason we dress is physical necessities, culture construction or aesthetic, one dresses and behaves since experiences that they had. Not only experiences define our preferences, experiences define the clothes we are going to wear, how we are going to speak or to walk, that is, all things we like is because we had good experiences and the opposite also, if we didn’t had good experiences we won’t like.

Example 1: Somebody suggested you to dress a blazer for that interview you have, you dressed. You felt beautiful, formal and confident, the interview was a success and your are contracted. Probably you will like blazers and use them to special occasions.

Example 2: You dressed a beautiful orange dress to the party, nobody liked it since the beginning of the event and you felt alone all the time, you will probably be distrustful to use a orange dress again.

Style from Face Hunter fashion blog - What she wants to say?

So when we dress and behave, we want to mean something, that is, a feeling we had that we want to express and want to have again.

When we communicate ourselves we want  everybody to understand us, what can be difficult in body language (that’s what we are talking about), because each one has different experiences, and clothes or behavior means something different for each one.

When tzniut asks to be discreet it’s saying: “don’t call attention to how you seem instead of what you do“. With tzniut it’s not so clear for others to see what I support, so the focus goes to who are you (we have talked this before)? That is because tzniut doesn’t let you expose itself and take the risk of being confused its appearance with who are you.

So communicating ourselves without a word is easier when we dress with tzniut.
